AJ Cabradilla serves as a Teacher Recruiter for the Hawaii State Department of Education, where he plays a crucial role in the cultivation of educational talent within the state. A native of Hawaii and a graduate of Kamehameha Schools, he holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Oregon, as well as a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from Chaminade University, accompanied by a Hawaii license in School Counseling.

In his capacity, AJ collaborates extensively with local institutions of higher education, establishing strategic partnerships to develop robust teacher pipelines and facilitate the seamless transition of qualified teacher candidates into positions within the Department of Education. Demonstrating a commitment to innovation, he has forged a significant partnership with the Professional Development Branch to launch the Teacher Intern Project. This impactful initiative provides critical support to aspiring educators who complete their State Approved Teacher’s Education Program (SATEP) in Hawaii by offering paid hourly wages during their pivotal second semester of student teaching.
